Seventy-five percent of the products in this type of establishment are medicine, mainly generic and bioequivalent medicine.

Femsa Salud Chile opened its first Super Sana store in the Estación Central district. This is its low-cost pharmacy format, which has a smaller-sized point of sale and a lighter operational structure than traditional stores.

This type of establishment has already been rolled out by the Mexican company in Ecuador and Colombia, with around 1,400 products, 75% of which are medicine, mainly generic and bioequivalent medicine.

“As a company, we have focused on taking care of people’s health for the past decade. Today, we are taking our innovation one step further, focusing on a smaller assortment of medicines in high demand, looking to support the family budget,” said José Ignacio Larrondo, Chief Operating Officer of Femsa Salud Chile, in a statement.

The company said that it plans to open two more Super Sana stores in the Metropolitan Region by the end of 2025 and then look into expanding to other parts of the country.
