This new office has 21 meeting rooms, work desks and a coffee bar open to Bank customers and non-customers.
Banco Santander has just inaugurated a new Work/Café in its iconic building at Agustinas 920, in the heart of downtown Santiago.
The innovative format was created in Chile and has been replicated in eight other markets where the Spanish financial institution operates.
The space, opened in this historic Art Deco building, will have 21 meeting rooms, coworking areas, Wi-Fi and a central coffee bar, making it one of the most important free workplaces in the area and the Group’s largest office with this format in the world.
Santander highlights the importance of Santiago’s downtown area as a hub for business and the flow of people, as well as the relevance of this part of Santiago for the entity.
This new Work/Café also includes eight closed teller modules, 18 platforms with specialists and waiting areas for those doing business with the Bank, offering a comprehensive experience for customers, non-customers and companies.
The Work/Café at Agustinas 920 combines the characteristics of a traditional Work/Café and an express banking branch known as Work/Café Expresso, where customers can conduct transactions such as withdrawals, cash deposits, bill payments and loans, among others.
In addition to its role as a bank branch, Agustinas 920 has been the setting for key moments in Chile’s economic history, dating back to its original use as headquarters of Banco Español-Chile.
This emblematic building was designed by architects Carlos and Alberto Cruz Eyzaguirre and Escipión Munizaga Vigil, who used marble and bronze throughout the different corners of the building.
During the inauguration, Román Blanco, CEO and country head of Banco Santander Chile, highlighted the historical relevance of this building, noting that «it is a symbol of the rich history and architectural and economic evolution of the city. Here we have combined the best of the digital and physical worlds to ensure an excellent service to all our customers in a modern and secure space.»
«This location is the largest Work/Café in the world and a real source of pride for the entire Group. We want to be the best bank for Chile, offering the best services and products to everyone,» concluded Blanco, inviting the public to enjoy this new space.
