Softserve, a Ukrainian multinational company, was the only foreign company awarded a CORFO IFI program grant. The four grants, focusing on technological investment projects for the Ñuble Region, aim to attract new initiatives impacting the area and its people.

The technology company will implement a Talent Acceleration Program for 150 young people from Chillán and the surrounding region, investing over US$5 million and generating many jobs in Ñuble.

Softserve’s Vice President and Country Manager for Chile, Jaime Oviedo, commented, “We are very pleased about the IFI grant. It is an excellent opportunity for Softserve to position itself in the Ñuble region. It will enable us to grow, bringing technological transfers, jobs and development opportunities to the region. So we look forward to spending the next few years working on a relationship that we are certain will be very fruitful.”

InvestChile Director Karla Flores remarked on the importance: “In the framework of our regional efforts, it was with Ñuble that we signed the first agreement to support the attraction of foreign investment. We are finally seeing the fruits of a coordinated effort between the regional government, CORFO and InvestChile—through the Ministry of Economy—to attract foreign investment in high-value-added sectors. This enables us to diversify growth sources and employment opportunities for all the people of Chillán.”

Ñuble’s Regional Secretary of Economy, Development and Tourism, Erick Solo de Zaldívar commented that this is “good news for the Ñuble region. [Softserve] is one of the companies that will set up operations thanks to CORFO’s investment attraction program, which the regional government supports. The company focuses on delivering technology and software development services and training.

The other companies undertaking projects in Ñuble thanks to the IFI grant program—VZion Group, Mañío SpA and Chilean Marroni Farms—operate in technology services, software development and agribusiness.
