The Spanish firm will oversee the operation and maintenance of the Megapack system for Elon Musk’s company in Chile.

Spanish electric company Solarig has signed a strategic agreement with Elon Musk’s Tesla to supply battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Chile.
Specifically, it will be responsible for maintaining Tesla’s demanding BESS indicators in Chile for Megapack 2 XL, “the most cutting-edge, reliable technology in the energy storage market,” the company said.
This agreement strengthens Solarig’s position as a global leader in the operation and maintenance of renewable assets. The company currently has a portfolio of 15 GW, with about 8 GW in Latin America, a market it leads in terms of assets under management. Solarig has 10 years of experience in Chile and manages approximately 3 GW of high-voltage (HV), photovoltaic, wind and BESS assets.
“Solarig is also the leader in energy storage in Chile,” the Spanish firm said.
Manuel Macias, Solarig’s Director of Operations and Maintenance in Latin America, remarked, “We are proud to partner with Tesla, the world’s most advanced technology provider and a leader in multiple sectors, including electricity storage.
This agreement marks another step in our growth as a leading service provider for renewable assets in Chile, an operation backed by over 10 years of experience in the country and 150 professionals working locally.”
He added that the goal now is to “strengthen these agreements with first-rate suppliers and expand them throughout Latin America, where we have a significant presence in countries including Peru and Mexico.”
Known for pioneering electric cars, Tesla is also a global leader in energy storage with Megapack technology, used in more than 65 countries and boasting an operational capacity of over 47 GWh worldwide.
“The combination of technological excellence, strategic location, and scale positions Tesla as a key player in promoting innovation and sustainability in the Latin American energy sector,” said Solarig.
